If I'm getting a Kilostream line installed between our main site and a second, all I need is a suitable router at each end. These would then be connected at the main site into our existing switch and at the other end plugged into a 4-port hub/switch then to the pc's.

Is that about right?

Yes, If you have a remote site and want to join it to the main site then you would put a router on each end of the point to point circuit if the main site also has an internet connection then you would have to create static routes or use a routing protocol such as ODR or RIP unless the main site has a single router with two WAN interfaces (one for internet and other for point to point connection). ODR is the easiest of the two and the least processor and bandwidth intensive only used by cisco routers running CDP.
Remember though a router will not pass broadcasts by default and as such netbios traffic will not be passed unless you have an IP helper or a wins server ( this is very important if you want your remote users to log into a microsoft domain in the main site hehe). if this is for a business spend the extra money for cisco routers it will make your life much easier. An alternative would be to have cable or DSL ran to the remote site and put in a PIX 501 instead of a router and in the main site have a PIX behind your router acting as a firewall and VPN server that will connect both sites through the VPN. this would give the remote site access to your main site via site-to-site VPN and will go directly out to internet for internet use instead of crossing the point to point circuit traveling through your main site network and then going out to internet.

tell me what your main site is setup like now and what you want to accomplish and I will tell you how to set it up.
