OK, I have a new DVD writer installed successfully. It's an OEM unit. I intended to use it only for backing up data. But as long as it's there, I'm wondering what software I need to play commercial DVD's on it?
What is the most prefered software? (The only software I have loaded with regard to CD & DVD's is Roxio EZCD 5.)
Thanks...

You can try Cyberlinks PowerDVD, that is what I use and have been pleased with it. Check here (http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/download/download.jsp) and it looks like you can try it before you buy. There might be some freeware out there, but I have never tried any.

CSO (http://www.computersurplusoutlet.com/) has WinDVD for free for a short time. Not sure how much you need to spend to qualify. I buy from them often and have never had any problem whatsoever.
