mkay, here's what went down:

I deleted the icon from my quicklaunch-bar that minimizes everything, displaying my desktop. Notice: I didn't turn of the quicklaunch! I rightclicked the icon and went for "delete".

I want it back. :(

But, I can't figure out how! Ever since deleting it, I have realised how much I use it and it's driving me nuts. I've scourged the taskbar options but with no result.

The first one to help me wins a shiny new banana! :D

I WIN2K, the shortcut is "Show Desktop.scf", should be able to do a search and find it, then put it back on the task bar.

Hope that helps.

On your keyboard, hold the Windows key and tap "D"

We don't need no stinkin' icons! :D

Wouldn't your Windows Help file tell you how to do that? :)

Look for "Show Desktop" in C:\I386. :)

On my XP Pro PC, I right clicked on the "Show desk top" icon and created an icon on my desk top. Then I went to the properties of that icon and for a target, it shows-

"C:\Documents and Settings\(Current user)\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf"

If you have multiple users set up on your PC, maybe that file is in another profile and can be copied over.

Just trying to help, its all about people helping people!

the info I have here says "WindowsKey+D" only works with an "Active Desktop".

With the classic desktop its "WindowsKey+M" to minimize and "WindowsKey+Shift+M" to restore.
