I have a Packard Bell Platinum 2020. I have set both supervisor & user passwords in the bios but when i boot up I am not asked for this password. I use a bios password without problem on my laptop but cannot seem to get it to work on my desktop. Can anyone help me as I am not sure why it won't owrk. Thanks in advance,

Adding, Removing, or Changing a BIOS/System Password.

ENABLE/SET - Registered The following procedure will enable/set a BIOS
password which will subsequently be required when cold booting the computer
or when using the reset to boot the computer:

1.Power up computer from off condition with ESC key depressed. Unit will display "Check system. Then press the (F1) key"

Just change what ever keys you need for your system But line 6. is the one you need.to finish with

2.Release the ESC key, press the F1 key. This will put the unit into the BIOS setup screen.

3.Using the arrow or tab keys move to the password field, highlight NOT
REGISTERED.

4.Press the SPACEBAR, enter the password at the "Password = " prompt, press
ENTER

5.The computer will prompt for the password again (verification), enter password, press enter. At this time the password field will change to REGISTERED. Subsequent boots will require the password.

6.Press END to save and "Y" to exit.

Thanks. I had already done evrything that you suggested but I am still not getting asked for my password when I boot up. Any other ideas?
