I have dual booted PIII machine - Windows XP and 98 SE
Recently I tried to install Windows 2003 on same machine
but it shows error on Drives Checkup process message was
' Your C Drive is corrupted and cannot be repaired ' and setup aborted
So I repartitioned my HDD (C-5 GB, D-5.8GB, E-9GB Approx.)
first I reinstalled win 98 SE but uffffffffff
It again stuck on same error message
Machine configuration
Intel PIII 933 Mhz, 128 MB SDRAM
810 KOB FST Motherboard, 20 GB HDD, BIOS - 062702-AMIBIOS Release KOB FST 810e 05/16/2001

If you do a Google search for that error, several other links come up concerning Win2K instead of XP, but there might be more info in some of them.

Check your HD manufacturer's website and see if you can download a diagnostic boot disk. That will tell you if the drive is corrupted.It would also be worth deleting your partitions using FDISK, recreating them.Then try running fdisk /mbr to fix the master boot record.

Indeed, I would follow shanmuga's suggestion regarding the harddrive diagnostics. It sounds from the error that there are problems with the harddrive itself that are not correctable.

You may need to physically inspect the drive to determine the manufacturer, but you also might have success in Device Manager...
