Hi folks,

minor prob (I hope). when I click on the real one icon on my desk top, the opening page, a little square RealOne emblem, just flashes for a second across the screen and disappears. So, I cannot play my stored music...no Ferrante and Teicher, no Barry Manilow, no Jerry Vale..nothin.

Recently installed Zone Alarm free edition Firewall. I checked the program controls and RealOne is checked off as safe, but it wasn't at first, and I stopped it's request once or twice.

I also installed a program for an older model Polaroid digital camera (PhotoMaxSE--someone gave it to me, works nice too). I have the peripheral end of the cord for dwnldg pics from it hanging without contacting anything. Should I unplug the tower connection when not in use?

How do I get Real One back on line? (No more Perry Como, no more Shirley Bassey, no more ....ok, just kidding about the musical taste.

And no more Mel Torme?

Right click on the Real Player icon, click Properties, click the Shortcut tab, and note the file path in the Target box. It should read something like C:\Program Files\Real Player\realplayer.exe, C:\Real Player\realplayer.exe, or similar.
If it does, then find the realplayer.exe file either in Windows Explorer or in Start/Find/Files or Folders, and open it.
If the Target box has a file path that's completely different than the above, then go to Start/Find/Files or Folders, type *.exe in the Named box, select your HD in the 'Look In' box, click 'Find Now', look for realplayer.exe in the list of files that show up, and open it.
If Real Player opens ok by doing either of the above, then delete the old shortcut icon, create a new one, and place it either on the Desktop or in the taskbar.

If the above does not open RP, then remove it from the Programs page in Zone Alarm, and try again.
If ZA asks permission to open RP, click Yes, and check the box for 'Remember this answer the next time I use this program'.

If still no luck, then uninstall RP in Add/Remove Programs, and reinstall it.

Ski thanks, I think I'll start with door #3 and uninstall RP, I mean if I'm going to have spyware on my machine then I am going to enjoy using it.

Mel? Hey Mel? Ski's here...

Oh, hell, Tiny Tim on dust would be better than Jack Jones on The Love Boat. In fact, Tina Turner on Thunderbird wine and demerol would be better than anything on the Love Boat.

Ps: I picked up the 4-CD set of PHISH A Live One, at a swap meet today for $4, that's: four dollars. Teeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee.....

PPs: the RP uninstal re-install worked fine.
