hello- can someone shed some light for me on this please? I need direct X 9 for a game (EQ) but my system doesnt support it with the latest patch..no 3D ( or says DDI version too low??)..the drivers can not be upgraded...bought a g force fx 5200 PCI, installed it, screen comes up grey..do i need to uninstall the drivers on there already? if so, how? Sony ( manufacturer tells me that since it is an " onboard" video card nothing can be done? argghhh...is this true? can i never get direct x 9 capability? thank you!!

You can go into Device Manager, select the onboard video and place a check in the box "Disable in this hardware profile" and then ok your way out and reboot. When coming back to Windows it should find the new card and want to install the drivers, so have them handy.

Did you reinstall the drivers for the geForce video card?

As it didn't prompt me to (didnt automatically come up), I wasnt sure how to install the new drivers...so, diasble the old display adapter in device manager, then install the new drivers , then reboot? By putting in the g force CD, will that prompt the drivers to install? thx
