View Full Version : Autoarranging files/folders
In Windows 98, is there any way to apply autoarrange once for all.
I ve' become sick of doing it again n again for each folder.
Go to Start/Settings/Folder Options/View, and make sure the box is checked for 'Remember each folder's view settings'.
If it's not, then check it and click OK.
If that does not work, then see if reinstalling Windows over itself fixes things.
i m not talking about settings of a single folder.
I want to ask that can i change the VIEW seetings (in particular "AutoArrange") of a folder and then apply them to all other folders. Can i do that in Win98?
I know i can do it in WinXP.
See if this works:
Select the desired folder view, click View/Folder Options/View/Like
Current View, click Yes to the warning, click OK, press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking on the x in the upper right corner of 'My Computer'.
If that does not work, then go to Start/Run, type regedit, click OK, click on the + next to each of the following:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies, then click on Explorer.
If there is a value in the right side of the window called NoSaveSettings with a value of 1, then right click on it, click Modify, change it to 0, click OK, and exit regedit.
it worked (ur first solution).
Glad to hear that you fixed things, and thanks for posting back with the solution.
