URGENT!!!!

I installed a BioStar - M6TWG motherboard and when I turn it on there is only a blank screen.
I can hear the processor spinning but there is no POST at all.
When I remove the RAM memory and leave only the necessary, I hear 1 long beep followed by 1 short and then a lot of long ones (I counted up to 10).
I inserted 1 DIMM at a time and it didnīt beep but there is no POST yet. I have now 2 DIMMīs of 32MB and there is no beep but I canīt get any POST or get into the BIOS.

The processor is a Pentium II with MMX in Slot 1
It has a built-in video and sound with Intel chipset 810.
I want to use a PCI video card but I canīt disable the chip unless I get into the BIOS.

I really donīt know what could be the problem.
The motherboard was working fine before in my other computer.

What do you think is the cause of this? Can you help me?

Thank you very much!!

Sounds like you may need to clear the CMOS. If you have a manual for the MB check to see how you go about clearing the CMOS.

Sounds like a good chance you have a short between the motherboard and the case. Get some cardboard washers from a computer shop and put them under the metal standoffs the motherboard is mounted on, I usually put them under the screws that hold the motherboard too if I suspect a short.

Power up using the onboard video, with only motherboard, CPU, video, memory (one DIMM) and keyboard. (That means no floppy, hard drive, sound card etc.) You'll only need to boot long enough to see a picture, then go into BIOS and disable the onboard video, power down and add the PCI video card, try it again. Check the motherboard manual, you might also have to change a jumper to disable the onboard video.

I did that and still I got no video on the screen.
What else do you suggest?

Also double check to make sure that you have the cable to the monitor plugged into the correct connector....(done that one too many times on my i810 machine... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif )
