An 85 year-old whiz-kid I contact in Oregon using Messenger & Netmeeting had a problem with the audio connection. She could hear me, but I couldn't hear her.
She contacted MSN Messenger support and was given the following advice, which fixed the problem.
Her Operating System is Windows XP.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for writing to MSN Messenger.
I understand you are having issues using the voice chat feature. You
indicated that you can hear your contacts but they cannot hear you. You
also mentioned that your speaker and microphone work with other
programs on your computer. It is possible that the Quality of Service
(QoS) Packet Scheduler is turned on.
To resolve this, I suggest that you clear the Qos Packet Scheduler check
box:
a. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
b. Click Network and Internet connections, and then click Network
Connections.
c. Right-click the icon for the network or Internet connection, and then
click Properties.
d. Clear the QoS Packet Scheduler check box, and then restart the
computer.
Feel free to email us back if you have other questions. I will be glad
to assist you again.
