Hey,, was up?? having a problem shutting down my pc, running win 98 se, when i go to shut down, i get my norton crash adviser telling me it has intercepted a crash in the program manager, this has just started and is really annoying.if i turn off my norton,, i get the explorer has preformed an illigal opperation.once i restarted and it wouldnt detect my mouse,, restarted a few more times and things were fine with the mouse,, dont know if the problems are related, thanks a lot http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Try reinstalling Nortons, sometimes utilities can be the problem, check to see what programs you have running by hitting ctrl+alt+ delete then cut them off one by one to see which one is causeing the problem,this may sound like a lot of work but it will end your problem. you can also go to www.tinyapps.org (http://www.tinyapps.org) and get a program called- (end it all) to close all running programs before you shutdown (thats a way around your problem but does not fix it)

try disabling the quick shootdown from the advanced option in the msconfig program
