hi guys would really appreciate help on this one:

when using netscape to download files off the net, i get an error saying that the source file cannot be read / saved.

for instnace if the location of the file os http://www.website.com/files/file01.exe the error message says C:\docum~\user\local\temp\file01.exe cannot be read.

no problemo using IE or Opera. is there any way to fix this? checked out the settings page and didnt seem to find anything that could help.

follow up question ...

downloading an executable file from IE causes the file to be corrupted but not with Opera. whats the reason behind this? happens to SOME files only. 1/10 ratio.

C:\docum~\user\local\temp\

Well, that looks like pretty standard location...your Temp file.

So how much free space is on you hard drive and full is your Temp file?

I would blow out everything in there....

It sort of matters.....if you are running low.

If you have the drive partitioned and there is maybe about 20% free space left on the partition you are using to d/l to you could start having problems, depending on file size.

Also if you are using any kind of download manager, you should clear its history every so often.

Those are the first two areas to check....
