Hello,
I have a question concerning the pins on a socket 7 pentium processor. I have noticed that Intel has some pins with silver connectors and others with gold connectors. I know that I am not supposed to mix and match the connectors for memory modules. I am wondering if the same logic applies to CPUs and if so how do I determine what type of connector I should place in my motherboard. Thank you.

Your going to have to get a cpu that is compatible with your mobo. That should be expressed in the mobo manual. No you cannot mix the metals that goes for anything.I'm sure someone will be along to tell you a little more about that particular processor.

Mixing Metal type is not something you should worry about when talking about the CPU

Intel and AMD give the M/B makers the spec’s for each chip and the pin specs .
The cpu socket (ZIF) will already have the correct connectors of the corresponding metal .

Just make sure you get the correct M/B for the cpu you decide to use.
