Paralell port can`t be found

My printer nor zipdrive cannot detect the LPT1 port. I have tried all the connections including internal.

In BIOS:
Is the LPT 1 port enabled?
Is it assigned IRQ 7 and I/O 378?
Did you try different using different modes(SPP, EPP, ECP)?

In Device Manager:
Is there an IRQ conflict with LPT 1?
Is the 'Disable In This Hardware Profile' box unchecked?
Did you try removing LPT 1 from Dev. Mgr., restarting, and letting Windows recognize it and reload its drivers?
Did you try selecting other I/O's?

If the above are do not work and the printer and ZIP drive work on another machine, then the LPT 1 port may be bad.
