It is hijacking malware... You will need to run HijackThis and post the log here so we can help you clean it out. If you have it, you probably have other garbage. You can find the link for HijackThis in my links below...
To run HJT, extract it to a permanent folder such as C:\Documents or one you create like C:\HJT. Close all programs you have opened and make sure that all programs are enabled if you use msconfig. Run it and Scan, then Save the log. When the log window appears, Right click to Copy it, open your browser and come here to Paste the log. Do not make any changes until it is checked since most items are either benign or essential to the computer.

Okay, you do have some problems here... To start, please extract HijackThis to a permanent folder such as C:\Documents or one you create like C:\HJT. You are running it from a temp folder which means we won't be able to restore any changes made...
Next, download and run CWShredder. You will need to close your browser before running it and choose to FIX. Please copy the report it generates to post back here so we can see what it took care of.
Then, you will also need to download and run another tool called Kill2Me...
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/kill2me.zip
Then go here and follow the instructions to remove NewDotNet. Some people install this intentionally so you can certainly keep it if you prefer, but I strongly recommend dumping it:
http://www.newdotnet.com/#remove
Reboot and run HJT only. Mark/fix these if they are still there, some will have already been fixed:

These will probably need to be fixed by LSPfix, but do all the other things before using it. You can find it here and you will need to tell it you know what you are doing to use it. Only select Webhancer to fix, leave the others alone...

Okay, it is better, but there is still a pretty bad pile of garbage here... Did you opt to keep NewDotNet??? If you didn't, go back to that link in my last post and follow the instructions... The two things that should be gone in you HJT log if you clear it are listed below. DO NOT fix these with HJT:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [New.net Startup] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~1.DLL,NewDotNetStartup
O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net
After you clear that (if you do), reboot into Safe Mode and run HJT only. Mark/fix these:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id

Well we are making progress....
Let's try a slightly different approach for the last two things. Use HJT to fix these:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D6DFF6D8-B94B-4720-B730-1C38C7065C3B} - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\BTLINK\btlink.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [srng] \Program Files\Srng\Srng.exe
Then reboot to safe mode and look for these in Add/Remove Programs:
CommonName, BTLINK or Srng. Remove them if they are there. If not find and delete these folders (in bold):
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\BTLINK\btlink.dll
C:\Program Files\Srng\Srng.exe
You may have to set Windoze to show hidden files to find these. Once you are done, reboot and post a fresh log. Let me know what you did and what did or didn't seem to work....

Ok, here is what I have. Thanks again so much for all the help. Not only have I gotten rid of that annoying program, my computer shuts down quicker than ever. You sure hung in there with me!

It is still looking almost clean.... but not quite... this thing is back again:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id
Apparently it may have an option to remove it in Add/Remove Programs, so check and see if you can find it there... If not fix the items in HJT and also fix this one:
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
Then reboot into Safe Mode and do a search on your hard drive for this and delete it if you find it:
MWSSRCAS.DLL
Then reboot and post a fresh log....
Jennifer
04-13-2004, 11:13 AM
I think that did it. I did a search on my hard drive in Safe Mode for the MWSSRCAS.DLL but it didn't find anything. I also just downloaded a file called Spyware Guard Version 2.2 Hopefully it will help prevent this from happening again.
Thanks again,
Jenn...

It looks mostly clean again, but that WebSearch thing keeps reappearing, so we will need to check another log to make sure it is really gone. Also, I missed this, so fix it too:
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {D6DFF6D8-B94B-4720-B730-1C38C7065C3B} - (no file)
I have been assuming this is your intended StartPage, if it isn't you will need to fix it as well:
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.windyvista.com/
I suggest also installing SpywareBlaster (it runs once and sets a killbit to block most known spyware ActiveX controls, it just needs to be updated which it can do automatically) and IE-Spyads which upgrades security settings and alerts you if you try to visit a known bad site.... Make sure your antivirus is updated regularly and that you have a good firewall in place as well.
Post another log after reboot so we can make sure it is really clean....:)

Yup that it is my start page.... Hows it look now? Hopefully good, I don't want to take up all your time.
Thanks
