I've had problems trying to get one to work...I can't remember now which ones I've tried. (2)
Both installed successfully, however, one didn't work at all and the other worked great....until it started freezing my browser.
In fact, I've had a few "issues" with 0.8.
Freezing problems...Plugins seem to be hit and miss. At times, the browser will slow to a crawl- I know it's not my isp or anything (connection wise) at my end because at the same time, IE will zing right along.
One of the sites I found a Spellchecker was HERE (http://www.dennis.ca/weblog/archives/000420.php) . I believe that was the one that worked fine for a while and then started freezing things up.
Interesting to read his quote near the end of the article:And hey, while you’re here — Does Firefox have a rendering problem or is my CSS coding just horrible? I’m ashamed to say it, but I’ve backpedaled to Firebird. I’m finding too many nitpicky problems with Firefox at this point. (Also note "comments" below his quote)
And then of course from the Mozilla site itself:
Firefox is a Technology Preview.
While this software may work well enough to be relied upon as your primary browser, we make no guarantees of its performance or stability in its pre-1.0 state and it should not be relied upon for mission- critical tasks. See the License Agreement for more information
Anyone else????
I'm thinking myself of waiting until this "preview" is "worked on" a bit before it stays as my default browser. (I also realize the link I posted is a couple of Months old)
I know IE certainly has it's security problems, but it always runs great, I keep my Security settings high, and most of all....I REALLY miss "IE Spell" when I'm not using it.
You guys wouldn't even want to read some of my posts without it...(Hehe- you probably don't anyway). :D
BTW...I'm headed out for the day, so if I don't reply to some direct questions, I'm not ignoring you. ;)
