In Windows XP Home after using Adobe Gamma in the Control Panel to recalibrate my monitor, & completing the procedure, I get the desired result. But when I shutdown & restart, the monitor comes on with the original settings, so I have to do it all again. This does'nt happen if I hibernate instead of standby or turn off. Why is this & how do I overcome it ? Thanks
It sounds Like the adobe gamma program is Not loading at startup.
Check your startup folder in the start menu.
It should be listed there..

Adobe Gamma Loader is shown under Startup in the programme list. When clicked I am taken to Adobe Reader 6 which is of course a different program which works ok. So that seems odd,but when I use Adobe Gamma in the control panel it works, i.e monitor brightness/contrast changes, but as I said in my query these changes are not saved when I restart -unless I hibernate. I am now wondering whether the fault lies in the way I save the setting. Should I give my setting a new file name rather than accepting the colour profile shown & then replacing that when prompted because it already exists ?

Adobe Gamma Loader.exe is the program that is needed to be in the startup folder, it usually lives in program files > common files > adobe > calibration folder. You can copy and paste that file to the startup folder.

If you are using a Radeon card with Catalyst drivers 4.2 or later, ATI has released a hotfix (http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/4501.html) for this exact problem.

Many thanks for helpful comments about this. By giving my chosen profile a new name & saving this I seem to have cracked it.
