Unable to complete downloads

Hello there...

I am running a Win98 machine with 256MB RAM.
I have this problem where any file download that I try to do never gets completed. I always get a timeout error.

Can anyone advise?

Do you use a downloader that allows you stop and then continue the download later? If not try this one. http://www.stardownloader.com/

No spyware etc. gets installed with it as happens with other downloaders.

The one thing I really really like about opera is the way it manages file transfers - I use it for most large downloads because of its ability to resume the downloading. And you have an alternative browser into the bargain.
