language button on toolbar in xp

I have just recently installed win xp on one of my machines and I have everything pretty much the way I want it. One little annoyance is the 'EN' indicator on the lower toolbar. I know how to turn it off once windows has started but it comes back everytime I reboot. How do I get rid of it permanently? Is it the same thing on the log-on screen?
