Hey all,
I sent a tech support request last week about my new Jetway 771AS motherboard, no response. I can't get BIOS or Windows to recognize either of my CD drives. The drives show up on the bootup screen, but not when I go into CMOS setup, even after I run auto detect. I've tried changing out the cables, and changing the drives out between IDE controllers. I've also checked the drive jumper settings whenever I've changed the drives out. The board has the latest BIOS version installed. I've listed the drives, BIOS version, etc. below. Any ideas how I can get the system to recognize my CD drives?

Thanks,
Dale

57Honda,

What have you got on what channels...which is master and slave etc.? Are the jumpers set correctly?

Try setting the setting in the BIOS for the channel to Auto and let the system detect the drive during bootup. Hope this helps.

Try to access your cdroms from dos with your win98 boot disk, If you can't see them there I would suggest that you make your CDRW Master on the channel, I've run across that no see'em problem when a CD-rw was set as slave on 40 pin 80 conductor IDE cables.
As for not being recognised in bios, If the drives show up on post the bios has recognised them, If you mean they're not being recognised in HDD autodetect in the setup screenI have to say that I haven't personally seen one get recognised from there so far.

Here's a link for your problem if it's windows based. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q189526

Do you have a link to the Mobo site?

Hope I could help.
