Alright i finally got some money out of my boss to let me build a computer Lab for our low income kids in our program at work. I got someone to donate a P3 with 30GB hardrive and 256 MB of ram. I need to either build or buy a complete PC comperable so we have at least 2. I remember when i first started shopping on newegg they had alittle section about building really cheap computers posted by the customers, but that seems to be gone. So if anyone can think of a cheap computer setup please post it here or if they can think of a site that has cheap PCs prebuilt that would be good too. In other words cheap and quality.

You can also find some decent deals at eBay...
Depending on where you are, it can be worthwhile to check around with some local business or even post a note in neighborhood newsletters and such. A lot of people are dumping PIII systems these days and looking for a worthwhile cause to give them to. I was recently offered an old Compaq by a friend who knew I tinker with computers. Since I didn't take it, I don't know what it was, but it might have been a PIII. It is possible that the only thing you will really need to buy is the hard drive...

Are you a registered non-profit??
It sounds like whatever you are doing is a worthy cause. That in mind, I would expand on Budfred's neighborhood newsletter idea and suggest that you spend a few bucks on a local or citywide newspaper ad letting folks know what you are up to...
Many of the big companies lease their computers. I would suggest some phone calls to folks you might know that are already successful at what you are attempting to set up. They may be willing to provide information on who they contacted or steer you in the right direction...
You may get more responses than just a single computer...

So how much can you spend?
Watch the local want ads. You should be able to get a P3 for less than $150, or maybe $200 with a 17" monitor. You might be able to do even better.
I saw an E-machine with monitor and printer at BestBuy for way under $400 after rebates. While not state of the art, it would be new, guaranteed, and infinitely faster than a P3.
