I run WIN 98SE. Recently I checked the time on my PC ( I occasionally do ) :D. It had reverted back to GMT. I reset to BST, every thing seemed oay. Today I checked again and low and behold it had reverted to GMT again. Any Ideas. This has happened two or three times lately.

Move to Greenwich! :D

Are you sure you're clicking "Apply" when you change it? That's about all I can think of, I've never seen win98 change time zones before...

Since "daylight saving" or BST started a few weeks ago - some time servers didnt correlate and continued to synchronise with GMT. So if you are using any atomic clock type synchronisers such as AnalogX's AtomicTime Sync (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/ats.htm) you should change the config so that you use 132.163.4.102 (for example) as the time server; that one does correlate with BST and not GMT during BST.

Also - is automatically adjust for daylight saving checked under Time Zones?

You could also try "moving the time zone to Amsterdam", which is an hour ahead of the UK, and see if the setting sticks or changes there.

Pete I did and do click Apply, none the less it reverts back to GMT! BUT NOT TODAY :D
(It also happens when one lays cement and Do not walk on the grass ;))
Paul the problem started after the BST change. I have checked every thing (Maybe) and do not use the Atomic clock facility. Will wait a few days and see if it happens again

Seems to have eventually accepted that I am boss;). All seems okay. Have down loaded an Atomic Clock facility. At he moment it reads 14:37, every other watch and clock at home here reads 14:40 after updateing from the original setting, a three minute deficit. :o I wonder why

Same old problem :( Twice this week I have had to change the time settings, at the moment the time is reading 20:59 BST. The correct time is now 22:59 BST and I do not know how this is happening AGAIN  Just checked in control panel>date time and that reading was 21:01. ( It was 21:01 when I started ) I have now changed to the correct time ie 22:09; and clicked APPLY :D
