In desperate need of help.

please, please help me.
I woke up this morning and i found my computer just hangs when it boots to the BIOS. The post screen doesn't even come up just the ASUS logo and then nothing. I have tried clearing the CMOS but the same problem occurs. It will not evben boot from a floppy altho it isn't set to boot from this first it does reead the disk then just hangs again. I am in need of urgent help i hace a project due in today which is on my computer. PLease help i will be enternally grateful. my mobo is an ASUS A78NX Deluxe.

Please open the case and check all of the connections and see what is going on. Then you will need Sylvnaders flow charts form this link (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19961&highlight=flow+charts).

Since it appears you have acces to another computer, you can take the drive out of the malfunctioing comouter place it in a working computer as a slave and get the data off.

And by the way, where is your backup???? When you get close to deadline on a project backup on a floppy, a CD AND e-mail a copy to yourself or a close friend. You can never get two many copies as a deadline approaches. The computer ate my homework will not usually be accepted by teachers in this daya and age.
You must learn that a regular system of backup is a critical part of any computer system.

yeah yeah im well aware of the need to back things up properly but after staying up to god knoews what time u don't expect the computer to just not come on in the morning.

Ok so i discontennected everything and can get to my hard disk and boot up so will be able to hand in this thing. Tried to ocnnect my floppy drive up but it just gives flopp fail 40 or something like that which leads me to believe my floppy mite be broke. anyway going to finish up and then investigate whats wrong. thanks for the help.
