View Full Version : Office 2003 Pro
Hi All,
I've got a corrupted YS 561401.cab file is there any way of repairing it, or can I download a new file from somewhere.
Thanks,
kfh.

First insert your installation CD into your CD drive.
Now go to add remove programs and clickon the office to uninstall. You will be given a choice to uninstall or repair. Select repair and the corrupt file will be found and repaired.
Hi ErnieK,
I'd thought of this option but we've missed layed the disc. Or should I say my partner tidied my computer stuff up.
Thanks,
kfh.

OOPS! I hope you did not use bad language when you found out
Can you borrow someone elses disk?
Or (don't know if this is possible) download a trial version of Office and then do the search whilst pointing to that. Also you might find the file on an older version of Office.

Theres no cab with that name on my own copies of Office 97 or 2000 or XP.
You could possibly try extracting the contents and then make a new cab with the extracted files. For this you would need the Cabinet SDK from http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dncabsdk/html/cabdl.asp

I phoned a friend who has Office 2003 Pro, and I asked him to search through his disk for the cab file. He says he cannot find it in either Word/Publisher/Frontpage or Onenote.
Are you certain that it is definitely a word file?
Hmm, interesting. I just checked my Office 2003 disk and found the cab no problem. kfh shoot me an email, might be able to help you out.

I will get him to check again. As you say Hmm! either he has not looked properly or he does not want to admit he does not know how to do it.
