When using MS Media Player to put music on a CD, the program automatically chooses the wrong drive (D vs E). I have downloaded the latest version of the program from MS, and can't find a patch for this problem. I have another program that works well for loading music on a CD, but I would like to get MS Media Player to point to the correct drive.
Any suggestions?
Tks.

Open Media player ans go to Tools/options.

Now go to devices. Next go to properties of the drive and select the drive you want as the recording source.

Ernie:

What is the "Use Error Connection" check box for? Both of mine are unchecked, just wondering.

Use error correction (playback)
Specifies whether to correct anomalies in digital playback when listening to CDs. Using error correction helps to minimize any minor noises that you can hear when you play CDs.

Use error correction (copying)
Specifies whether to use error correction when copying audio from a CD to Media Library. The error correction feature attempts to fix problems that are caused when audio content is copied to your computer. You may notice scratchy audio or pops in the audio that you copy. Select this check box to help reduce any noise in the audio.
