New Virus ?

I read in one of todays Daily`s of yet another threat that has caused chaos around the world ie PC VIRUS SASSER.

A WORM THAT EXPLOITS A HOLE IN MICROSOFT`S WINDOWS XP AND Windows 2000 SOFTWARE
It is absolutely frightening. Microsoft`s Graham Cluely at MS`s anti virus firm Sophos does not give much encouragement on a trusted patch for it. What have you guys heard about it. Hope it is not a variant of the ZERO Day Worm?? BEWARE OF THE LATEST VARIATION OF the Netsky virus which claims to have a cure

Sorry stefanus, but this is old news. It was first noted on the weekend and almost everyone had a fix for it by Monday... The MS patch does seem to be effective in blocking it, the AV programs are updated for it and there are a number of fixes that can be used if infected... It is also really easy to see in a HJT log...

The new hidden CWS and Look2Me are much more of a problem now. Even the Zero Day thing has a fix now....

One guy in this forum (Enlio) was hit by it and is haveing problems. Old hat or not :D

Enlio has bigger problems than Sasser, he/she has Agobot which is much harder to deal with than Sasser...:eek:

Maiwai!(Ndebele for It`s scarey :eek: ) They all seem to be a variant of W32---etc.
I run NAV and do not get the same info that PrntRhd has linked to in his posting. Very, Very Scaaaarrreeeyyy :eek:
