lately I've been getting two copies of every e-mail from people in my inbox. The first one will have an 'on behalf of "username"' in the 'from' field and there won't be anything in the body.
The other copy will have the actual content and be the normal one. Then a little later the blank e-mail will just dissapear.
Does anyone know how I can stop this from happening???

That is risky on your part, don't open e-mails like that.
There are viruses that take someone's address book and sends e-mails with those names and combines them with various domains to get recipients to open them and spread the viruses.
Keep your Windows Updates up to date,
Keep your AntiVirus updated,
Use a software firewall.
And Welcome to the PC Guide!

sounds like you may have opened some already....
but definately do some serious a/v scans......both from your own (up to date a/v) and several online scanners......do several because some catch things that others dont........
when/if you catch the culprit there will probably be removal instructions on one of the a/v sites, if not do a google or post back.
