video playing question

hey people,

i'd installed : WinMediaPlayer9, RealOnePlayer2.0, Quicktime6.0, MicroDVD1.2 & VLC 0.71

sometimes when i use VLC to play .avi file, only audio is present but with RealOne there would be no problem. why is that?
