Old Programs

To speed up my pc, I thought I'd remove some unused programs thru add/delete programs. I cannot understand what many of them are. Is there a library of program discriptions available so that I know which ones to keep and which to toss?

Not really.

Try searching for the folder the program is installed in, and checking for a readme text file, or other document file that might tell you what it does.

I have had this problem with files downloaded from the internet. You see a link to a program, think " just what I need" , and a year later it's still sitting there, and do you know what it is? No way!

Registry mechanic can help you there. Its good for cleaning up all them programs you get rid off that still leave a trace! ;)
