The new SpyBot S&D version 1.3 is now available from:
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download
The introductory page still says version 1.2, but whan you get to the download page, it is actually version 1.3 as of 05-12-2004.

Now that's what I wanted to hear!
There was another thread started yesterday HERE (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29693) about this.
It had been bugging me that the site still showed v1.2, so at least I know v1.3 is there after all- Thanks!
HOWEVER...I still may wait a while though, there is talk in various Forums about problems some people are having with the new version.
(EDIT) OK...And this thread (http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=15099) at Net Integration helps to answer my original question too.
(The same question was puzzling me, just as it was to the person that started the thread there).

Jabar,
The new version does not play nice with the old one if you let it download and install in the default folder, and will possibly garbage both versions!
You can specify 1.3 added to the destination name for installation and you will be fine, or you can uninstall 1.1/1.2 and use the default destination for the folders and you will also be fine.
Like Adaware 5.82 when 6.0 was released, future updates for SSD 1.2 will not be written/released.

:( CGI-limits reached, please try again later!
EDIT: I finally got on the page and 1.3 is not there. Just 1.2 and other apps.

Thanks for that PrntRhd
Funny, I was just reading about that same topic in one of the Net Integration threads.
Most people did uninstall older versions. Although even one of the Mods said installing over 1.2 should be fine.
I like your advice though...
I've always been a firm believer in removing all remnants of old versions before upgrading (in most cases anyway), so that was definitely my plan all along.
Still haven't taken the "plunge" yet though...I'm still reading peoples likes, dislikes (and complaints) at the moment. :p
And even though there won't be any more future updates for 1.2, I still have the original installer and files around for v1.2 in my "Downloaded Programs and Tools (setup .exe)" Folder. :D
Don't ask me why, but I hang on to a lot of original installers for some programs...Every once in a while I'm really glad I did. Like in the case of a great tool that's no longer anywhere to be had.
(Ha...Guess I just answered my own question) :p
Anyway, thanks again for the info- It's the adventurous type like you that are great to know...I can sit back and watch for a while to see if anything gets screwed up before I go ahead and install anything.
Just kidding...:D (Sort of)
(EDIT) Just saw your post rik148755-
I just downloaded it from the first ".exe link" by "Brent" in THIS THREAD (http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=15073) with no problems...."Official USA Mirror Link"
Also take note that even though "Brent" was one of the Members that said installing over 1.2 works great, I would follow PrntRhd's advice myself.

Yeah, got it now, its says 1.2 but the mirrors lead to 1.3
I have installed and am having no issues (yet) :)

I've just installed and run V1.3 and it looks good but:
I expected my system to be clean, but it found 7 items marked red as follows:
1. Click Agents.
2. Alexa related.
3. CoolWWWSearch.
4. DSO Exploit.
5. FreeScratchAndWin.
6. Possible Extension Hijack.
7. Unknown.
I'll remove 1 through 5, but I'm concerned by:
6. This listed an alteration made to the data in the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile\shell\open\command\" key.
When I checked on this it turned out to be an alteration made by "Script Sentry". [I installed it on the recommendation on ErnieK]
This is Script Sentry's arrangements to intercept attempts to alter the registry. I right-clicked this item and selected "Exclude this detection from further searches".
7. This was registry key "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{DA9A0B1D-9B7B-11D3-B8A4-00C04F79641C}".
I right-clicked on it, selected "More Details->Jump to Location" and regedit moved to the "Interface" Key. [Nice one! It would have been even nicer if it had jumped right to the exact sub-key.]
The "Data" of key {DA9A0B1D-9B7B-11D3-B8A4-00C04F79641C} was "INSUpdateLiteCtrl".
Does anyone know if this is a baddie or not?
I'll untick it for now.
It removed all 5 ticked items without any problem.
Al-in-all, a nice experience.
The only downside [hardly worth bothering with] is the rather dour colours. It seems to work flawlessly.
I took Jabar's advice and uninstalled V1.1 before installing V1.3.
This was done in "MSconfig->Diagnostic Mode".
