buying and upgrading-hardware installation

I bought a nic card 10/100mbps manufacturer AOpen, i wanted to go cable
but cannot get the external cable modem to recognize my ethernet card
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the hardware. My operating system is still windows 98.

Also I enabled the USB in the bios because the external modem has a usb connection but it won't recognize that either, what am i doing wrong:mad:

Did you install the drivers for the NIC? Check your device manager to ensure that the card is working properly.

Rt Click on My computer Choose properties and then device mangler. Let us know if there are any yellow !
