I hope this is in the right area. Anyway, I just wiped a hard drive and installed 98 on it. However, the drivers for the network card are not on the 98 cd. I don't know anything about the network card either. I have no manual for it, or cd or anything. It's been modified so I can't contact the manufactur because it's been changed. The person I'm working on it for has NO idea about anything about computers, other than how to do what they need to. How do I figure out what it is, so I can find a driver for it? Thanks

Look closely at the card, not components, it might indicate mfg; also the MAC address on the card might give indication of mfg as manufacturers reserve those. I don't have list of MAC to Mfg but someone might know it if you post it.

Have a look and see if you can see the FCC ID number (it will something like fcc-xxxxx-xxx) If you can, go here to do search. This will tell you who made and when.
https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

Input the EXACT number as it is printed on the card (ifit is there) The above address is on my web site at Useful links 3.

I couldn't find any of that on the card. It does say Novell on it, but I didn't find that much help. It also has a NC logo. I took 2 pictures of it. However, they are larger than 20,000bytes, which sucks. I uploaded them to

http://electrickcow.netfirms.com/card.htm

Maybe some of you can see something that is helpful. Thanks.

Grr, Netfirms made me create a page. Oh well. I changed the link to that one so it works

The link just takes me to driversearch.com. When I do a search, I don't find any drivers for it either. I also did a search on the internet, and didn't find squat. Is there another driver that will work with this card? -or- Where can I find a driver to work with this card? Thanks

You ahve to be careful when you wipe someones drives without knowing what hardwre they have especially with older equipment. You may have to bite the bullet and buy another NIC for 15 bucks and install it and do it like , yesterday. ;p

That's probably what I'll do. I'm tired of trying to get this old piece of crap to work. Thanks
