LAN to LAN adapter

Folks,

I know this is chill out space bu tmy question is so basic I cannot think of where else to ask. I have a lan cable that I usually stick into my lab top in an satellite offica away from the main server but from time to time I want to extent it with another cable. is there a female to female connection to allow me do this and if so what is it called ?

Yes there is such a connector, it lets you extend RJ45 cables. I guess it is called an extender? I bought one last month as a matter of fact.
