Winpup32

Hi,

Hope you do not mind me asking for a little help.

I have a problem in that Spybot is showing a warning of Winpup32, but I cannot remove it, none of the software seems to have a utility for this that includes the antivirus software etc.

I run Adaware, Spybot and Spywareblaster daily and I also have Norton installed on my system. I have taken the liberty of also adding the log from HJT, not sure of a couple of entries and would like your assistance. However it is the Winpup32 that worries me, but it only shows in Spybot, which is weird.

Adaware has had WinPup detection since Feb 2004, so do most AV.

I am not seeing winpup in your log, it may have already been cleaned up... You can use HJT to fix these:

It may be worthwhile to reset System Restore since that may be where the scans are picking it up. After you reset, try your scan again and see if it is still found. If it is, post back and we can give you more info on removal (if we can find it)... Include a fresh HJT log if you post back...
