Hey, over the past few months I have been having a huge problem that has ripped many hairs out of my head:

I own a web server, and it is hooked up to a network in my home. I do my web-editing on one of my other PCs, and to upload anything to the server, I do it over the network.

After about a month of running this setup, I tried to open the Server's shared resources over "my network places," and it gives me a cannot connect error. Its reason: The computer I was using is located in 2 places with the same name on the network. (those places being 1. in the same domain as the server, and 2. being its own domain). Every time this happened (almost every day), I was forced to change the name of my PC, and reboot to gain my netwok privlages back agn.

so, my question is: how can i delete my computers shared resources from the Network domain that my server uses? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

-oh, btw, the Server is Running Fedora Core 1 Linux, and the PC is running Windows XP Pro

Do you have two domains on the linux box? I thought Domains were a windows thing so Im not sure where the problem is. If it were a Win server i would simply remove the object from active directory of the offending domain and make sure the username and password you log into your XP Pro box is part of the correct domain i.e.the user.

Strange thing, one day I am browsing my network, and I find that the problem is magically fixed. (must be the gnomes in my computer)

Thanks anyway
