To make a long story short, I clicked on a link in an AIM profile that I shouldn't have and ended up with what my McAfee VirusScan called a Keylog-Briss trojan in a bridge.dll file. After several unsuccessful attempts to delete the file, I found the previous bridge.dll thread on this board and followed the instructions. Both the Spybot and Adaware scans found 100+ suspicious files, all of which were quickly deleted. Two follow-up virus scans on Trend Micro and McAfee turned up clear, but, if it wouldn't be much bother, I'd like to have my HijackThis log read to see if there's anything else that I should delete. The log is copied at the bottom of this message. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot! :)

Unless I missed you the first time--Welcome to PCGuide.com. There are experts that will examine your log, not me yet, but I see some things in there that I have learned to be suspect about. Wait for the experts, do nothing until the Cavalry arrives.

In the meantime, you do not specify that you cleaned out your System Restore files, so if you didn't, and since you have Win Xp, read this:

and follow the instructions. The idea is that the Trojan is hiding in your system restore, and you want to clean it out, and make sure your system is totally clear before you re-enable your system restore, and set a new restore point date. :D

Before you respond, go ahead and fix some dreckware. Close all open windows and your browser. Open HJT and mark/fix:

I would also fix this since it is not clear what it is and it will get restored when you visit the site again...

This is also an optional fix... it is considered foistware, but not full blown malware:

and if you fix that, you will also need to remove this... Check Add/Remove Programs first and then simply delete it if it isn't there. It would be called Wild Tangent:

HJT compresses the names of things, so I am not sure what this is, please check what this is and note it in your next post:

After you do the fixes, reboot and post a fresh log with the info requested....

Thanks for responding so quickly, Donn and Budfred. I do appreciate all of the help.

I went back and did the scans again with System Restore disabled. Found a few extra bits of spyware with Spybot and Adaware, but no viruses on McAfee. I also went through HijackThis and deleted the files below except for THEWEA~1, which is my Weather Channel Desktop Weather program. No, I don't know what the Gatewaybiz.com files are (though this computer is a Gateway laptop, I have a feeling those files have little to do with the company!), and I haven't touched them yet. I hope this problem won't be TOO difficult to fix---and to think I thought I was keeping this computer in pristine condition! My new log is posted at the bottom of this post. Thanks again for your help!

Well, since you have a Gateway computer it appears that you have a clean log.... Assuming you are not having any problems, Congratulations....

Here is my prevention speech to keep it that way: This is a good time to set up protection against further attacks. You need an antivirus that is updated, a good firewall and a spyware blocker like SpywareBlaster and also IE-Spyads. All of these have good free versions available... be very cautious about any security software that advertises in popups or other intrusive ways, they are not only usually useless, but also often have malware in them....

If you are having problems, please post back with as much detail as possible....

Whew, I'm glad there's nothing else wrong. Thank you for all of the help. Honestly, I've been trying to keep this computer in good shape---I update my McAfee everyday, I grab all of the Windows updates as soon as they're available---but it doesn't protect from spyware/adware/etc. (and McAfee generally sucks as it is). I'll get the downloads you suggested, and, hopefully, I won't be back in here with another problem TOO soon! Thanks again for everything---my compy is grateful, too!
