Hello
I had a Bios that was password-protected. Having forgotten the password, I reset the CMOS by taking out the battery and allowing it to bleed for a minute before slotting it back in again.
Now when I next tried to boot it up, it tells me that NTLDR is missing, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.
During the bootup, the first black screen where the RAM and masters & slaves are detected, it shows that my hard disks are detected fine.
Its only at the next black screen that the error msg comes up.
I tried copying the NTLDR (and the NTDETECT.com) file from the XP pro CD to the root C:\ but that didn't seem to work.
I also tried to reinstall XP pro from DOS but once it has completed copying the installation files, it tries to boot up and gets stuck at the same point, showing the same error msg as said above.
Any advise?
