I downloaded the driver from the Linksys Web site. It is in a compressed format. I use zipitfast. I do not know what to do next. I try to VIEW/RUN the files, and it says that I have to specify what to "OPEN WITH". I am totally confused. It does not seem to UNZIP it. Is there another web site where I can download the driver (for XP) unzipped or could someone tell me how to unzip this file please?

Do not DOUBLE POST

To answer your question, get a good unzip program.

This link (http://download.com.com/3120-20-0-1-0.html?qt=ZIP&author=&titlename=&desc=&dlcount=&daysback=&swlink=&os=&li=49&dlsize=&ca=) contains a number of good choices...

IT does not matter what I unzip with....the files are unzipped but I cannot open them. It warns me that I am attempting to open a file that is a .SYS and it cannot find a program I can use to open this file with.....

Well yes.....because when I have XP search for the driver that I just unloaded and unzipped, it still does not find it. What should I do to have this driver recognized?

Well....for those of you who can be as dumb as I was.....at the time of driver search, pick the option where you can TELL XP where to find the driver and VOILA.... Thanks for your input!

No problem, I was about to lead you down that path, but you found it yourself.
Well....for those of you who can be as dumb as I was.....

Not dumb, just not experienced in the ways of Microsoft. You mean search does not mean search????

You did fine.......

And FYI, there is a utility included in XP for uncompressing files, should you need to do that.
