My pc boot up system was o.k before until a came back from holiday. When i ried to turn on my PC, the boot up system only run until windows cloud screen appear for a while then a blank screen replace it. There is a message appears telling that "while initializing device vkd: windows protection error. The system instead as me to restart the PC. I did it but the same message reappears. The MB seems o.k to me. What about the CPU?

If any could tell me what the problem is and what to do to solve this problem. Your kind advice will be appreciated.

Was the machine on/plugged in while you were gone?

What is the exact error message?

Can you boot into Safe Mode? (<f8> after the POST and select Safe Mode or <f5> )?

According to Microsoft's site that error is created by the keyboard.

Try reinserting the plug for the keyboard.

Go into Device manager remove your keyboard and reboot see if Windows finds it.

Try a different keyboard.
