I have built a new computer with a fic ad 11 motherboard and a AMD 1.2 GHZ proces. The problem is that my computer will only run at 900MHZ. This is with the front side bus set a 100MHZ. If I set the FSB to 133MHZ (using the jumper on the motherboard to do so) the computer boots and post identifies it as 1.2GHZ which is correct but the system becomes unstable!I left the auto detect cpu voltage to auto, and it did not work and I tried to set it myself and my system was still unstable. Needless to say I have been running at 900MHZ for a month and would like to be able to get to use what I paid for. AMD said to make sure I was using name brand memory! This is kind of lame advice. Can anyone HELP!

Actually AMD may be right. What you are doing is by changing to 133FSB is running the memory at 133MHz. First and foremost, the memory must be PC133. It may not be if you had a Duron installed before. Also, some memory is marginal at 133. I have experienced it myself. If it boots and posts but becomes unstable it probably is memory.
What memory are you using?
If you happen to be running PC100 forget it...125 is the max for most of it, if you are running 133 alot of it may not be all that stable at 133, especially if you are using agressive/tweaked settings in the BIOS (like a performance option). Essentially what you are doing is overclocking the memory, not the CPU, and when memory is pushed beyond its capabilities things don't fry they become unstable.....
