Hi,
Just wondering if the length of the telephone wire will affect the internet speed. I want to subscribe to DSL on one floor, but I want the modem on the floor below it. So I was thinking about getting a long telephone wire to accomplish this. Thanks in advance

I think line length is from your exchange to the socket in your home supplied from the phone company, plugging an extension in to the modem should be ok.

Others will come.

Hi,
Yea, an extension inside the house, but it may get pretty long.

I think the length of the phone cord should not matter. If you are concerned, you could always leave the DSL modem near the phone cable and use a longer patch cable to go from the modem to the PC
