Please forgive if I've posted in the wrong section!
My daughter has just aquired a secondand Dell Optiplex GX260 PC and is trying to obtain a User Guide/Manual for it. Just basic info, what the different rear connection symbols stand for etc etc.
Trawling through the Dell website has been negative and time consuming.
Whatever Option is sought you get asked for a PC 'Service Tag' number.
The thus entered number is then replied to as ' Unable to find in our Database'. It then gives the option to proceed without this number, resulting in the user going round and round in circles, returning to the original page - where it STILL asks for the Service Tag.
Does anyone have the Manual in a PDF format or know or a link where I can download it from. Many thanks.

A couple of links that may be of some use....maybe not. :p

Thanks 'abarnutcase' just what we were looking for.
Just one query though; the page
http://support.ap.dell.com/docs/sys...60/en/index.htm
contains a Download link for a file named '2n427en3' (6,300kB) which contains 252 Items in a zipped format. When unzipped, I couldn't find a way of getting them to display other than as individual pages, JPEGS, etc.

Another mystery; your posted link works, but my (identical?) Cut & Pasted version gives me a 'Page cannot be found' message' - why???

Hi Mike-
Concerning the two URL's, my actual url is:
http://support.ap.dell.com/docs/systems/opgx260/en/index.htm[/url
Copy and pasting the link from my post gave you:
http://support.ap.dell.com/docs/sys...60/en/index.htm[/url
(I purposely left out the last bracket so you could see the difference in the two addresses)
You're better off using my link and then copy and paste the URL from the address bar once the page is loaded.
As far as the zipped file, not sure I'm following you completely but did you read the "Note" below the download buttons concerning the "optional User's Guide Viewer" and also the correct procedure for unzipping the file? (Not that it's any different than dealing with most other zipped files).
Anyway, just wondering if the "optional User Guide Viewer" might come in handy for some reason.

Because you copy/pasted the text of the link and not the actual link.
Right click each link and go to properties and read the actual address in the url line. They are quite different.
EDIT:
JB,
You beat me to it... ;)

jabarnutcase: I own up - I didn't get past the Download link!
Too much of a hurry I guess. I unzipped all the files to a separate directory, but didn't read the bit that said:
"To view the document, start your browser and open the index.htm file in the directory containing the unzipped files."
The index.htm page links them all together, just like the Online version.
Thanks again.
(How often have we been told - Read the instructions FIRST!!) ;)

There's nothing more lost than the instruction manual, when you moist knead it.
Or in some cases, the first thing washed and dried in the dishwasher :o
