I just got done building a computer and installing Windows and all other needed programs. It was running fine and everything was working well. Installed SP1 and updates from Microsoft CD. Then I did some tweaks from BlackViper's site, and now then it wouldn't shutdown properly. I clicked on shutdown, and it would restart. Thinking it must have been one of the tweaks I had done, but not sure which one I just decied to run System Restore, and roll back to a known working time. As this was only a few days old I went back before installing any patches or doing any tweaks. Now I can't install SP1, it gives an error that it can't verify Update.inf. Any thoughts? I am thinking I could either try doing a repair install or format an install again.
I created a small partition for Windows XP, and all I have installed so far is AVG, Syagte firewall, and SpyBot. BTW It can't be a virus or Malware as I have not yet connected to the internet in any way shape or form. Thanks.
