Can't connect to any FTP servers

I cant seem to connect to any FTP servers. FTP is enabled on my LAN, andi dont know what is wrong. What must i do to enable FTP on my PC or make it to work? :(

Some little bit of FTP software works for ME...
And they each work a little differently... but cost is negligible or very low in most cases. I'm still using an old WinSockFTP95LE that serves me well enough for what I tend to toss at my server space. There are newer ones, of course.

I installed Bulletproof FTP some months ago at the office (where I no longer work--but that's another story).

Flash FTP
Smart FTP and
WS_FTP Pro is now in ver. 9.0 (god knows what MY old version is.....)

I have already tried an FTP client, they dont allow me to connect either. I've been looking at Microsoft's Knowledge base and it appears theres is some bug in IE 6. I'm just downloading some fixes and patches and updates for IE 6 now. I'll post if the problem continues

Presumably there is no firewall blocking such access?

Yea, I think you have a router or software firewall blocking tcp port 21.

Nope. No firewall enabled. I got it to work earlier this week after installing some updates from microsoft, but now its not working again.
