As part of my continuing obsession with technology I have over the last few months begun trying to study for the A+ using as much freely available information as possible. This also means that my computer is quickly running out of extra storage space as I save every bit of information I can get my grubby little hands on.

I have also decided to take some old code that was destined for the defrag and use it to create a training / testing program. I have the general layout and the core code nailed down and hope to have it done in the next few months.

My question is this...How much would a PCGuide User (Aiming for those who want to improve or sharpen their skills) pay for a training / testing program that will eventually cover most everything? I have reference information on most everything in relation to software and have begun collecting quite a bit on hardware. My intention is to have this be a modular training program.

For example:

You buy the basic software for and you get 1 free module with it. You can then either purchase additional modules or get a subscription with access to all of the modules.

I'm also looking for anyone who is knowledgeable (Aiming for the Experts Here) to review the modules and/or contribute to them. My main goal here is to provide something that is both useful and low-cost.

Depends entirely on what the training/testing app does.
Do you have anything we could compare it to? Sybex simulators etc?
Is it a simple text & pic based system followed by a series of questions?

There are lots of 'training' apps out there - most of them are reasonable at best. I've got a couple of the Sybex simulators, and they are ok, but there are still faults with them.

Let us know a few more details of how the app will be used, and we'll be able to give a bit more feedback for you.

The software would be similar to most anything that's out there as most do about the same thing. My goal though is to remove the fault's and to make them function better than what is out there.

The software will have 2 major components...Training...Testing.

This means that you will be able to read/review material that relates directly to the testing. So if you have the A+ Core module then you would have material available similar in nature to say a book on the A+ Core.

This also means that by the time you have finished the training and testing module that you should be able to pass the certification exams for that particular area.
