Which Brand of router should I get? Is there a difference? Any recommendations? Thanks

Several different personal preferences here, but my vote goes for Linksys (http://www.linksys.com/) .

I've used several of their Routers. Very easy setup, great reliability, and Superior Support the one and only time I needed it.

Presently using the one below on my home network with 4 Computers...works great.

Have also used their wireless Routers and like them a lot, but prefer the wired setup myself.

I've had good personal experiences with DLink. Easy setup, no worries, very customisable should you want to.

Just to add to the discussion, I used the belkin 54g router to set up a wireless network with a cetrino notebook. Took 10 minutes.
I think the point is that if you go with a name router, you should be okay. Most have very easy install programs.
What are you trying to do? wireless, or wired?

I've had no experience with either...however, just the aesthetics of the Linksys would command my wallet...

e.g. The symmetry of the antennae...

Thanks jabar for the heads-up that they even work as well as they look...

Hi,
I'm planning on wireless. Is there a significant difference between the one with and without speed booster? Supposedly it says 35% difference in performance. Thanks

Speed booster only works if all users have the same brand/type of wireless cards. Keep in mind the fastest Internet connection is slower than even 801.b speed.

Lest me join my voice in support of Linksys. They make amazing proucts.

One thing with wireless. Don't do it unless you have to. It's slower, it's less secure, it's more expensive.

What are you trying to accomplish? I have a setup with all of the pcs' are hard wired and one notebook is wireless so I can take it anywhere in the house.

If you are doing wireless make sure everything comes from one manufacturer and follow their setup directions carefully.....
