system does not shut off

this problem just recently started occuring. when i shut down from windows, the power supply stays on but nothing else is running. windows has shut down and the monitor is blank. even when i press the power button, or press and hold it for a 5-10 seconds, the ps stays on. the only way to shut it off is to pull the plug. the system normally shuts itself off upon shutting down from windows. nothing has changed on the system since i built it a couple of years ago. it's not causing any problems that i can see, but it's just a little weird why this started happening all of a sudden.

Hmmm....sounds like maybe a problem with the power supply, the signal to shut down may not be being interpretted properly.
