Hi, I just bought a dell axim x30 handheld and wanted to use the wi-fi to get online with it.

I don't know what equipments i need in order to get the wi-fi working; I know its either a wireless router or an access point i need but not too sure so i need some help here.

I currently use cable modem connection at home and plan to use my other laptop as well for the wi-fi. I need to know what equipments to buy to get this wi-fi PLZ help.
THanks:)

BEFORE going out and buying anything, you should check out this forum, which is on dell's site, specifically for the handheld wifi connections:

http://delltalk.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=aximwireless

I have an Ipaq which has wireless built in - but it will not talk to my buffalo WAP unless all encryption is turned off. You need to browse the forum to check out what does and doesn't work with the handheld.

Bear in mind that your handheld has 802.11b, so you need to be extra careful when you purchase any other equipment, which in normal cirumstances would be best run at 802.11g (54Mbps)

A simple rule to follow when you do eventually get your equipment, is to get the local computers (i.e. your laptop and pda, then laptop/pda/desktop) talking before you worry about connecting to the Internet.
