i need to install motherboard drivers, for a kt7a raid motherboard, ahtlon1. 4 gig. nvidia geforce2 gts , 512 meg ram. i had xp on my system.
i did not like it, so i have gone back to 98. [ no comments please ;-) ]
i have installed all drivers, latest graphics detonator and dx 8.1 etc.
When i run dx the screen goes black and the pc stops. i dont think i have put the drivers for the motherboard in correctly. when i try to run anything blue screen.

it is not my hardware it is just my installation is crap. any ideas.

May need to re-install O/S and download Mboard drivers
prior to installing any other drivers or DirectX.

This may be the simplest solution all the way around.

With the Via chip set you can run the Via4in1 driver program again and remove all or part of the drivers

If you remove the drives and reinstall them 1 at a time (Also allowed) till you get the stability you need with the options you want.
Including using the turbo options in the drives or setting them in device manager.
I’ve found it better to set the options during the Driver install and leave the options for the via drives alone in device manager

Note I am assuming you are running the Abit kt7a raid with via chipset

yes it is the same motherboard you mention.
i dl the latest 4 in 1 via set from abit and i do not know what to do with it.
The setup commands do not work when i click on them, this i suppose should be done from the device manager. but which part of the device manager. any ideas.
