Upgrading Motherboard

I have a pentium II 333, and I recently bought an Intel D815EEA2 motherboard with a pentium III 1 GHz processor. I set it up like the manual suggests, but when it came to connecting the switches and the LEDs from the case the connectors were different. I made a note of what pins they connected to, but when I try to start up the computer nothing happens, and I was wondering if I need a new case that would have the right connectors or if there would be something wrong with my power supply. Or possibly it is something else that I haven't even thought of.

It sounds like the original case/power supply is an AT case (form factor) and the new one is ATX...they are not compatable and you do noeed a new case/power supply...and you may have damaged the mother board.... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

okay... I realized I'm an idiot. I took the computer into work to have my friend look at it and apparantly I didn't have the CPU in properly, but now I am having trouble when it boots up. the computer will lock when trying to start windows, and if I set the jumper on the motherboard to go into the BIOS it locks up in there also within a couple of seconds.
